Installing A RescueBoot License File

The RescueBoot software is designed so that you can try the software for up to 14 days to see if it meets your needs before purchasing a license that unlocks the software for unlimited use. When you install RescueBoot you will have 14 days to use and test all of the features of the software without limitation. After 14 days the software will no longer allow you to create a RescueBoot directory or a RescueBoot bootable CD and any RescueBoot directory or RescueBoot bootable CD that you create without a purchased license will cease to function at that time. After 14 days the software will still allow you to delete an existing RescueBoot directory and uninstall the software.

You can purchase and install a license for RescueBoot that will unlock the software for unlimited use at www.rescueboot.com. The license can be installed before or after the end of the 14 day trail period. After you purchase the RescueBoot license it will be sent to you as an attachment to an email and you must then save the file in the directory where you installed the RescueBoot software. To save the license file you should go to "My Computer" and then navigate to the directory where you installed the RescueBoot software, normally this would be "C:\Program Files\RescueBoot". If you are using Microsoft Outlook or Microsoft Outlook Express, simply right click on the attachment in the email message and drag it to the RescueBoot software folder that you opened in "My Computer". The next time you start the RescueBoot Wizard it will recognize the license file and unlock your copy of the RescueBoot software.

Uninstalling RescueBoot

The RescueBoot software can be removed from your computer by either clicking on the "Uninstall RescueBoot" link in the RescueBoot StartMenu program group or by using the "Add or Remove Programs" option in the Windows Control Panel. Uninstalling the RescueBoot software will also remove the RescueBoot hidden directory from your hard disk.
