After starting the RescueBoot software as previously described in "Starting the RescueBoot Wizard" you can create a new RescueBoot directory by selecting the option "Create or update the hidden RescueBoot Directory" as shown in the image below.
Wizard For Creating a ReqBoot Directory
Click on the "Next" button after selecting the correct option and then you will be presented with a confirmation dialog to confirm your choice. Click on the "Next" button in the confirmation dialog to begin creating the RescueBoot directory.
RescueBoot Directory Confirmation
After you confirm that you wish to create a new RescueBoot directory the software will display a progress dialog that displays the progress as your new RescueBoot directory is being created. If it appears that the progress dialog seems to be slow to update while duplicating your registry files, this is to be expected. The registry duplication is performed by Windows application interface function which do not provide any usable feedback during registry copy operations.
RescueBoot Directory Progress
After RescueBoot has completed creating your new RescueBoot directory a completion dialog will be displayed to report that the directory was successfully created.
RescueBoot Directory Completion
Click on the "Finish" button to exit the RescueBoot software after successfully creating a new RescueBoot directory. At this time it is very important for you to initialize the newly created RescueBoot Windows environment by restarting Windows and selecting to start Windows from the RescueBoot directory. For information about restarting your computer to initialize the RescueBoot environment, see the sections titled "Booting From the RescueBoot Directory" and "RescueBoot Directory FirstBoot".
If RescueBoot encounters an error while creating the RescueBoot directory it will display a dialog with details about the error and a request for you to gather and send the RescueBoot logfiles to Res-Q-ware LLC for investigation. If you see this dialog it means there was an unrecoverable error that prevented RescueBoot from completing the creation of a RescueBoot directory. If the message says that there is insufficient disk space you should run the Windows disk cleanup tools to see if you can free up enough space for the creating the RescueBoot directory. For any other errors it would be helpful if you would email the RescueBoot logfiles in a problem report to Res-Q-ware LLC. For additional information on how to report unrecoverable errors when using RescueBoot please refer to the section titled "How do I file a a problem report?" in the section titled "Frequently Asked Questions - FAQ"
